Kentucky Youth and Law Students Fight For “Adequate and Equitable” Public Education

March 21, 2025 by Margo Strucker

Earlier this year, we posted about a lawsuit filed January 14, 2025, by Kentucky Student Voice Team (KSVT) with Education Law Clinic students and the Center for Education Equity (CEE) at Teacher’s College of Columbia University.

More recently, Harvard Law Today wrote about the Kentucky students, HLS students, and HLS and Columbia University clinical supervisors involved in the lawsuit fighting for an adequate and equitable education in the southeastern state. The piece describes KSVT’s ongoing public engagement campaigns to gather information, mobilize, and educate citizens on the public education issues most important to young people in their state. Since the filing, advocates in Kentucky and Cambridge, MA, continue to nurture their complex co-generational legal mentoring relationship and plan next steps.
