Elizabeth Bartholet Quoted in Katherine Stewart’s Recent NBC Editorial

Stewart warns that improvements to home education are more urgently needed than ever, "If home education is to be the healthy and necessary force that it can..." through this pandemic and beyond.

July 21, 2020 by Margo Strucker

Katherine Stewart (author of “The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism”) in her recent editorial, Coronavirus Home Schooling Highlights The Religious Right’s Education System Influence (NBC Think, 7/20/2020), outlines how the religious right’s aggressive tactics systematically target and shut down reform attempts aimed at improving both academic and personal safety for children in home education. CAP Faculty Director Elizabeth Bartholet describes the abuse she experienced from “a small but belligerent minority,” against home school regulation.
